App install revenue calculator
This projects revenue from installs: installs times trial-start rate times trial-to-paid rate times price gives you new paying users and monthly revenue. Enter your funnel below, or switch modes to see what a single breakout TikTok could be worth.
Enter your monthly installs to project new paying users.
MRR is new paying users times your monthly price.
How install revenue is projected
The projection runs a simple funnel. Start with installs. A share of them start a trial (the trial-start rate), and a share of those trials convert to paying (the trial-to-paid rate). Multiply installs by both rates to get new paying users, then multiply by your monthly price to get new MRR.
The defaults - 25% trial start and 40% trial to paid - are a reasonable mobile-subscription starting point, but every app is different, so replace them with your own numbers. The result is gross new revenue, before the app stores take their cut.
What a single outlier TikTok can be worth
A breakout TikTok does not just collect views - it drives installs. Even at a modest install rate, a video that reaches a few hundred thousand people can send thousands of installs through this same funnel into real MRR. Switch to the second mode above to put a dollar figure on one post.
That is why organic reach is worth chasing: the installs cost nothing per view, so the revenue they create is close to pure margin. See the TikToks already breaking out for apps like yours in the outlier TikTok library.
FAQ
What is a good trial-to-paid conversion rate?
For a well-targeted mobile subscription, 30-50% of free trials converting to paid is a healthy range, and premium or high-intent apps can go higher. If yours is far below that, the issue is usually onboarding or the trial length, not the price.
What install rate should I expect from a TikTok?
A reasonable planning range is 0.1% to 1% of views turning into installs. A post with a clear hook, an obvious reason to download, and a working link in bio can beat that; a video that goes wide but never mentions the app will fall below it.
Does this include App Store and Play Store fees?
No. The projection shows gross new revenue. Apple and Google take 15-30% depending on your program, so multiply the MRR by roughly 0.7 to 0.85 to estimate what actually lands in your account.
How do I get more revenue from the same installs?
Three levers: lift the trial-start rate with a clearer value proposition, lift the trial-to-paid rate with better onboarding, or raise the price. Small gains on each compound, because they multiply together in the funnel.
How can a viral TikTok be worth money if it is free to post?
Because the installs it drives cost nothing per view. Every install from organic reach runs through the same funnel into MRR, but with no ad spend behind it, so that revenue is close to pure margin. That is the whole reason Handler exists.
